MWH, now part of Stantec, Sustainability Consultant, Tahira Newaz was Highly Commended as ‘Young Professional of the Year’ at the ACE Consultancy & Engineering Awards 2017. Tahira was the only finalist to receive this recognition overall.

Facing strong competition from five other candidates Tahira impressed the judges with her presentation which focused on her and other members of the sustainability team developing the ‘water footprint’ methodology and tool based on the ISO 14046 Standard. MWH Technical Director, Adrian Johnson who also attended the awards, said; “I am so pleased Tahira has received this well-deserved recognition from the ACE. She has been a pivotal member of the sustainability team, not only driving the Water Footprinting Innovation Project forward but also contributing to our sustainable drainage work, carbon management and other initiatives with eight2O.”

MWH were also finalists in the ‘Training Initiative of the Year’ category with the Professional Development Programme (PDvP) for Graduates and Technicians and subsequent Professional Development Foundation (PDvF) Apprenticeship Scheme.
