The thirteenth annual Constructing Excellence North East (CENE) Awards 2017 were held on June 16 in Newcastle, North East England. The awards are designed to showcase and celebrate achievements by projects, organisations and individuals from the built environment as they continue to set the benchmark for excellence.
Congratulations to our client Northumbrian Water Group (NWG) who won the Client of the Year Award and also the Health, Safety & Wellbeing Award for the Health, Safety and Environment Framework Forum. Chris Sutton, MWH Health & Safety Director received the award on behalf of NWG as the NWG Framework Forum chairman in 2016 with Will Stobbs – Esh Head of SHEQ (Forum Chair 2017), Colin Nichol – MMB Design Director (Forum Vice Chair 2016), Brett Stinton – Head of HSEQ Northumbrian Water.
The judges said “For Northumbrian Water Group, the promotion of Health and Safety issues and the avoidance or minimalisation of accidents or exposure to any hazardous environments is a fundamental requirement for all stakeholders. From the outset, the Forum has been about openness, honesty and one of shared responsibility, with strong leadership and camaraderie throughout. The Forum has and will continue to be willing to listen and learn from other examples of best practice.”
The category winners from each region will go through to the national final that will take place in London UK in the autumn of this year.
